Six Ways to Honor the Mother of Your Children

1.Act Your Age!

I meant the opposite- go act the way you used to when you met a long time ago. Tease each other, be each other's best critic at the same time be generous with praise. Don't overdo the latter though because for sure you can read each other's sincerity very well.

Battered Woman Syndrome: How To Recognize The Signs

couple fighting photo: arguing fighting-couple.jpg

Love is the most powerful of emotions. It could either make you or break you. Women tend to be easily swept off their feet when a man proposes with promises of heaven and Earth and everything else in between. We are genetically predisposed to respond to men's luring. As women we have to learn to protect ourselves from being stuck in disastrous relationships and end up being beaten by the man we thought would love us for all eternity. Thank God not all men are bad and there are many out there who truly know how to take care of a woman.

What is Battered Woman Syndrome or Battered Wife Syndrome?

-is a reference to any person who...

The Cheating Partner Challenge: How To Get Over The Broken Illusion

So, you found out he was cheating on you. What do you do?

Heck, that is one tough question. You don't get to answer that in a day, not in a week, a month or a year or two. Probably you never will. But it pays to give it a try.....

So....

Do You Care Enough To Save The Relationship?

First tough question, DO YOU CARE? Do you love him or her enough to fight the tide? Is he worth fighting for? Are there kids involved? Has he shown remorse? Has he promised to change and is there concrete proof that indeed he has reformed?

Obviously if you no longer feel even a tinge of hope that he will change or even try to; when you no longer give a damn whether he comes home or not and the kids are matured enough to understand, you can leave...or can you?

To Love Someone

How do you know you love someone for real?

When you have crossed the road of FORGIVENESS, the river of TIME and climbed the mountain of KINDNESS and embraced the fire of PATIENCE no doubt you have loved.

Love is not physical. It is not the beauty that the eye perceives. It is felt in the heart. Once you find yourself uttering the words "I forgive you" and forgetting one's faults, you're there. You're in for a real taste of LOVE.

Love is inexplicable. It is just there. The trick is in giving your all with no regrets. Life is short, go ahead, fall!

Of Anniversaries and My Beloved Elyu!

Okay, so this a long overdue post. Our anniversary was on the 31st of October. It was our 18th! So the hubby who is as of late hooked to tripadvisor.com bookings searched for the best hotel for us to spend the day in the province. He chose The Little Surfmaid Resort in San Juan La Union because the price was right 😆 and the reviews we read online were all great!

I ate "Longganisa" while he ate "Beef Tapa". Of course he drank coffee while I enjoyed my pineapple juice.

We had our fill of shopping! Mostly veggies, promise because we made a bet as to who will lose more weight come December!

Blessed Sunday

img-alternative-text

Sundays, I love Sundays. The hubby and I have been good the past weeks. He has managed to make me get out of bed at 4 in the morning to prepare for early Sunday mass. And as always he takes the lead in buying our week's supply of veggies, meat, fish and poultry. I'll share our fresh purchases in another post. Believe me I am enjoying the simple quiet life. The best!

3 Signs Your Marriage is Worth Fighting For

romance-1934204_1920.jpg

If you are going through a difficult time in your marriage or relationship it is common to start feeling negative and focusing on the signs that say that it is heading towards the end. However, it is also really important to focus on the positives and explore the signs that indicate that you are still in a relationship that could have a future. In order to really give your marriage a chance read the following areas that you should be considering to truly understand if it can be saved and if there is still hope.

You Know You Are Not Perfect

We are not talking about putting yourself down, focusing on your weaknesses and feeling terrible about yourself. We are talking about how shifting your perspective can completely change the way we view certain situations. When things feel like they are falling apart it is natural to blame our partners. However even if your partner's behaviour is not ideal it is worth looking how their mood, behaviour and choices may be affected and impacted by your mood, behaviour and choices. If you can think of times where you have criticised him or hurt him through judgemental or negative behaviour then you are recognising how your own behaviour and energy can work as a catalyst for negative feelings between the two of you.

Paladin Hotel

img-alternative-text
The hubby and I spent a night in the Summer Capital of the country Tuesday of this week. He did the searching (translated- his online skills has greatly improved LOL) and processed the reservation.
img-alternative-text

And since he did the hunting I just waited for him with the room key. The hotel has a lot of stairs as you can see and the reception with the friendly staff is up there.
img-alternative-text
Well, truly "There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs." That reminder posted on your way up sets up your mood for healthy moves and giving up the elevator.
Our room was beside the road which the hubby loved because he could watch the city go by. There was a fan and no air-conditioning because Baguio is normally a cool place.
img-alternative-text
The room is quite small (would not have chosen a more pricey accomodation that is LOL); Basic amenities are provided though and the staff are all friendly and accomodating. Have I mentioned it is conveniently located at the heart of the city- walking distance from restaurants and tourist spots?
We paid for breakfast at P120 PHP. We ordered "tocino" with rice and coffee. A slice of fruit and vegetable salad came with the plate. It was enough to energize us. Afterall, a breakfast buffet which I usually long for could make our blood sugar levels soar high. I'm a healthy living advocate now remember? 😜
img-alternative-text
Ah oh, sorry for the mess. I failed to take a photo of the neatly made bed the night before.
img-alternative-text
'er goes the hotel room mirror and as you can see we had a memorable night in the City of Pines.

Sans my most recent fave photo of us.

Is It Love Or Lust? How To Tell If You Have A Future Together!

So you have met someone new. You’ve been seeing each other for a while now, and things seem to be going really well. The only problem is that you’re not sure whether it’s lust that the two of you are feeling or whether whatever the two of you have is for keeps.

What it’s important to realize is that the process of falling in love doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a process that takes time, and often one that starts off as lust. However, that being said, that’s not to say that every relationship that is based on lust will lead to love, it totally depends on the couple and their personalities.

couple 12.jpeg

Wondering whether this new person who you are seeing feels more than lust for you or whether the two of you are meant to be? When it comes to new relationships, it can often be difficult to determine what’s going on. Knowing whether your new partner simply fancies you for your body or wants to be with you for your mind can be difficult, as the lines are often blurry in new relationships.

That being said, that doesn’t mean that it’s not possible to determine whether it’s love or lust and what your future as a couple holds. It’s just a case of knowing how to go about it, that’s all.

How Do You Hate Someone You Love?

~A Guest Post~

I do not know the answer. That is why I am asking. How do you not love someone you love? Love is patient and kind, it is written in the Bible. Yet how does one endure the pain of betrayal of one's beloved? How does one live with doubt? How does one get away from trust issues? Sigh, I wish I knew the answer now.

I have written an article here on "What To Do When The One You Love Finds Someone Else" years ago. Now I do not know how to deal with it LOL. Experience really is the best teacher but it is the most dangerous. Sometimes I just want to get away from love- to go running and never turn my back and say goodbye for real.

What happened? I discovered my reality was not that good. I always thought FOREVER exists, somewhere. Until I saw for myself how he flirted with other women. Yes, women, plural. It killed me. He killed me. I don't know when I will heal. I am still bleeding to date. I still can't wake up in the morning and feel truly alive. I am hurting.

It feels great though having said it. Having admitted that yes, I am struggling with my marriage. Yes, I am at the crossroads. I keep praying everyday. Praying that he will change. Praying that I can keep my promise to protect the marriage. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. Though we didn't get married in church. It was a civil ceremony yet binding of course.

What saddens me is that I have lost my spark. I no longer shine. I have become ugly. I feel ugly. I feel unloved no matter how many times he claims he loves me. I no longer believe in ever after.

Until then....

Make them feel special

Keep the Spark Alive: Fun Ideas For Date Night

When you’ve got young children, life becomes busier than it has ever been. But it is so important to keep the spark alive in your marriage or relationship. Otherwise, you can get easily distracted in the raising of children. Then once they are all grown up, you don’t have a proper relationship anymore. So the best thing is to work on it as you go along. Every relationship needs work to help it flourish. So having a regular date night is a great way to do it. There are lots of fun things you can do at home for date nights, as we can’t always get babysitters. But I’m going to share some fun things that you can do outside of the home. Who doesn’t like to leave the house for a date every now and again?

Sunset-Date

Oh it was a part of our Anniversary Celebration this year. I've had my sunset fill!I dunno whether the teddy-tiger bear enjoyed looking at the sun though because between the two of us, I am the dreamer, he is the doer LOL.

Anyway, what I learned in the past months is that love needs to be nurtured, always. Ciao! 💗

Six Surprisingly Common Reasons That Marriages Don't Last

Marriages are rarely plain sailing. There are few relationships you can find that don’t have a bump from time to time. But there’s a difference between a bump and a gulf. Some of the reasons for divorce might seem like a gulf, but others could be surmountable. Here, we’ll look at some of the more surprising reasons a marriage breaks down and how to deal with it.

Infidelity
We know that the idea of cheating isn’t going to be all that surprising when it comes to the end of a marriage. But we’re not necessarily talking about cheating, physically. Infidelity can take place in the heart, mind, and attention of a person as well as physically. Your vows aren’t just about not sleeping with someone else. They’re about prioritizing your spouse above all others. If your partner is worried about you spending too much time with a friend, don’t treat it like petty jealousy. Similarly, don’t settle for being treated that way, yourself.

If your marriage breaks down it can be extremely painful, a huge knock to your confidence and emotionally draining. When children are involved, it is even harder. Moving them out of their family home or explaining that mom and dad won’t be living together anymore affects children in many different ways. Often people say if you know you are heading for divorce, do it before your children reach 3/4 or wait until they are in their teens. No matter when you choose to divorce, it will always be a sensitive matter for your children. Let’s take a look at how to take care of the kids as you navigate through a divorce.
