Beyond the Sunset

Dear Dad,


     Hi there! Hey, I came to visit the other day. I didn't see you. I suppose you weren't there. It was too grassy where we left you. But don't worry, someone will clean up the place soon. I hope you got what I left for you there, a candle on the ground next to the yellow flowers. 


I visited next one of your favorite places in town. You remember? that area where you used to fish? where the sun meets the sky at the end of the day and where I used to sit around and watch you with your fish-net running towards the waves...


I went there but didn't see you though I have to admit, the wind, the clouds, the air, the sun, the flowers...they all told me you are happy now....wherever you may be......

thank you for your precious time.....

I was already done publishing this post when out of the blue I remembered a line from this song which dad used to love listening to and singing...the sentimental part of me thinks he must want me to share it with you...searched it on youtube, found many versions which didn't work on blogger...almost gave up until I found this piano and vocals rendition of someone whose voice I know you will love when you hit the play button...."Try to Remember"...

    what a sweet way to remember your Dad. :) beautiful pictures! i'm Daddy's girl, they said and I think too. Makes me missed my Dad, although we just talked with Skype today with my mom. yes, i am sure your Dad is happy now, seeing you as a great person...he's your angel now and watching you all the time! xx

    Memories is always to be treasured, i'm sure your dad see's you when you came and visit him, and when you went to his favorite places, he is definitely a proud father for he has a very thoughtful daughter.

    your post made me teary eyed Zen, I miss tatay but I am glad I can go back home and give him a hug after several years, though of course, I wish I can also hug nanay but only in memories. I am sure they all are happy up there now seeing us :) Oh, I love the song too. and the pictures here are so beautiful, like lovingly and beautifully painted.

    What a touching tribute for your Dad. This made me recall my Dad too. I so much miss him! If only he's still alive. But I know both of our Dads are in a better place right now. Until we meet them again.

    Lovely thoughts Kulasa. My own father's birthday was a few days ago, he passed away a couple of years ago. Good memories are a great comfort amongst the sense of loss.
