A Must-Have Gadget For On-The-Go Bloggers

I'm not exactly a techie but I've been a smartphone lover since I got into blogging. I thought back then that I could't manage to write a post with just a phone. Tapping on the small keyboard of a phone to compose a minimum of 200 word article seemed an arduous task to do without the aid of a mouse and a huge screen. But things changed when I got myself a Samsung Galaxy Note II GT N700. I know better versions have come out of the market yet as far as my own phone unit is concerned after a major glitch about its battery pack weeks ago which I simply replaced, it's working again in full swing.

Must Have Gadgets For Business Travel

If your definition of glamorous is being stuck inside a four-walled confine in endless meetings, sporting the same outfit four days in a row, and sore-jaw syndrome from smiling all through client dinners when all you really want is to do is soothe your jet-lag with a warm bath, all the while not seeing any of the country you’re traveling to – then yes, business travel IS glamorous. That may have seemed a tad bitter. All-in-all, traveling for business isn’t that bad. It’s actually pretty cool. As someone who frequently lives out of a suitcase, it’s safe to say that I’m finally getting the hang of it. A few things are standard: business travel management companies are still relevant – check out this URL for their benefits, avoid checking your bags unless you absolutely have to, sign up for pre-check in processes, and always have the correct gadgets. Tech gadgets are essentially the key to saving your sanity during a corporate trip, so if you’re new to the world of business travel, or in need of a serious upgrade, here are the top gadgets to add in your carry-on luggage.

Noise Cancelling Headphones

Think life is like a box of chocolates? Well, flights are that box of chocolates. Unless you’re lucky enough to be flying business class, you really don’t know what you’re going to get. Screaming or sick babies are at the top of the list (poor things) followed by the first time flier in row 37F, finished with the one person who answers their phone upon descent, ensuing a ridiculous amount of passenger chaos – yes this happened. If you’re on a long haul flight, a good quality set of noise-cancelling headphone will make you oblivious to your surrounds, allowing you to tune out to the soft sounds of your own music or entertainment.

Battery Extenders

I want to you to take a look at your smartphone, tablet, laptop or whatever technology is at your disposal. How much battery life do you have left? Chances are, if it’s after lunch, it would be below half. Not so surprisingly, all that tapping, swiping and cat videos put a huge dent in your battery life, so if you need to be productive during all that down time, it would be a wise investment to purchase a back-up battery.

Personal Wi-Fi

Standard hotels and airports are famous for providing limited or costly internet for users, with rates generally levelling extortionist prices the more fancy the establishment. Four days of hotel Wi-Fi use can send the financial department into a heart-palpitating spin, so you might be better off bringing your own internet. If you’re travelling interstate, grab a Wi-Fi USB that you can use on-the-go as long as there’s cell service. To put things in perspective, one day of hotel internet usage is the same cost as one month of personal internet.

Business and Travel Ready Tablet

Tablets are the all-mighty versatile technological device. Whether you’re drafting up offline emails during your flight, watching a movie, listening to music, using a multitude of business apps, or finalising your power point presentation, the tablet is the one gadget every business traveller can’t live without.
Do you have any items you can’t live without whilst travelling for business? Let us know in the comments below.

Blogging 101: Sharing My Blogging Happine$$ and More

This is a long overdue post. Sometime early this year I promised to teach several friends interested in blogging and the happine$$ in blogging HOW TO START A BLOG and HOW TO EARN FROM BLOGGING.

I owe everything I know from dear friends in the blogosphere, Betchai of The Joys of Simple Life and my other The Salitype Society Sisters and Blogger Forum buddies and so many other friends across the globe who selflessly shared their secret to blogging success.

HOW TO START A BLOG

1. Choose A Platform.

~It could be blogger, wordpress or tumblr or any other platform you feel you are most comfortable with. This blog is hosted by blogger. I have inactive ones at both wordpress and tumblr. I personally would suggest blogger because it is user friendly. Customizations of theme and other social networking schemes are better at wordpress but my brain has been accustomed to blogger so this is where I stayed and here is where I could be at my best to guide you. So head over to www.blogger.com and start thinking of a title for your awesome site!

2. Choose A Niche.

~So what will you blog about? You can choose to write just about anything you are interested in but if monetizing your blog is a plan, you better conceptualize your site to one which will focus on one general category. If you are a mom like me, a HOME blog would be great to start with! Home improvement and other home related stuff imbibe a lot of advertisers. A Travel blog would be great for those of you who LOVE spending time outdoors and seeing new places. You'd have twice the fun exploring while earning extra income for your adventures. If you are a SPORTS lover you could start a blog about your favorite game and stick to sports related stuff. For fashion and beauty fanatics a FASHION blog is the way to start! As for me, The Letters In November was originally an INSPIRATIONAL blog. Later, I shifted it into a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, HOME, INSPIRATIONAL BLOG which also features TRAVEL and fashion and other LIFESTYLE stuff. I have been meaning to update my MOMMY and MEDICAL blog more often but I am always running out of time. For those of you who have all the time in the world to write you could have as many blogs as you can manage. It takes time for a site to gain readership and page rank so the best time to start is NOW.

3. Give Your Blog A Title and Purchase a Domain Name

~Sounds simple yet if you want your site to be one which would become viral and generate as much clicks as possible it has got to be something that will make search engine queries land on your page. Am not really an expert on this particular topic but my researches all tell me it is BEST TO BE SPECIFIC.

~Purchasing a domain name is quite complicated for beginners. You may opt to do this at a later part and just start writing posts first. At any rate when you do choose a domain name your present web add will be re-directed.

4. Spice Up Your Blog

~Blogger has templates readily available to use for your site which you can also customize but if you want better looking templates you could head on to sites that offer clean crisp professional looking themes akin to this site's template FOR FREE from sites like http://newbloggerthemes.com/

~Later on you could hire a designer to tailor a theme to your liking. My twinzy Cher of www.sweetmemoirs.com had her site totally revamped by an expert and I must agree it was all worth the fee she paid. Oh have I mentioned she is one of my blogging super inspirations?

~You could also add needed gadgets to your blog like blog archive, about me section, pages etc. Navigating through the blogger platform is relatively easy.

5. Write Quality Posts

~It is that one greatest technique in making it BIG in blogosphere! Write with your heart and make sure to have your work well scrutinized by you before you hit PUBLISH. You won't attract advertisers and readers in the first place with poor grammar and plagiarized content. BE ORIGINAL and remember to give credit to your sources. As much as possible use photos which are not copyrighted and when the need arises to use the property of others be sure to acquire the necessary permission, otherwise do not use the image. Getting yourself into the world of photography is A PLUS! Using your own images for your posts would be great! The joy in capturing images is one thing that lured me into blogging in the first place! You do not have to have a great cam! You just have to know the basics in taking eye-catching images.

6. Share Your Site And Interact With Other Writers

~The worldwideweb is truly WIDE! Pun intended. Your site wouldn't get known without you advertising it! No matter how great your content is you will have to DO HARD WORK in spreading word about your page. You have to join forums and BLOG WALK- visit other blogger's sites and leave comments. When commenting be at your best, be sincere and remember to leave a mark by using the name and url option whenever possible in a site so your site could be linked to the site you are visiting and it gives the other blogger an easier way of visiting you back.

~Go SOCIAL! You could make a twitter account, a facebook page, a pinterest and Instagram account exclusive for your site and make them accessible on your site. For facebook page LIKE BOX you could grab it at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-box-for-pages

It is also best to install a sharing button on your site like the one you could easily install from http://www.addthis.com

7. Remember to simply Enjoy Writing and the Happine$$ will come flowing later (Paying Sites)

~These are the paying sites you could visit when your site finally gets at least a PAGE RANK of 2. To check your page rank from time to time you could visit this page- http://www.prchecker.info/

~These are the sites I personally have experienced working with and where you also could apply for your site to be approved later.

~It would be best to open a paypal account because payment is mostly done through paypal. Head on over to www.paypal.com to do that.

8. Do Your On-line Tasks On Time and Always Be Professional

~respond to e-mails on time and never fail to write accepted tasks before the deadline, developing good working relationship with everyone is a great key to success in every endeavor...

9. Remember to Always Share Your Blessings

~When you reach that stage when blessings are already pouring non-stop, remember to LOOK BACK and thank the One Above and everyone you met along the way who helped you get to where you are! Pass on the knowledge and spread LOVE!

~Our group, the Salitype Society sponsors kids' education through our blog earnings from the site. It is one of my greatest motivation in writing- "Knowing simply sharing my thoughts in the site helps make a difference in a kid's life." If you could head on over there for awhile, me and my TSS sisters would appreciate it so much.

10. Go Write, Write Write!

~Your site needs to be regularly updated with fresh content and not be loaded with sponsored posts. Otherwise it would be labeled as SPAMMY and all your hard work will vanish in thin air. When "writer's block" and "fried brain" attacks just relax and give yourself a break, your writing mojo will be back in no time, because ONCE YOU ARE A BLOGGER, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ONE AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TURNING BACK :)

I will try to discuss purchasing a domain and renewal thingy when I get the time. For Any Other Inquiry Feel Free To Contact me! I will be more than willing to assist you as patiently as my blogging mentors were generous to me.

Sincerely,

~Special thanks to my Salitype Society Sisters and Filipino Bloggers Forum Buddies! My gift to them is prayers for good health and the essential things that money can not buy.

Reasons Why I Love Kids Email...and Why You Ought To Sign Up Too!

My kids used to ask if they could use my e-mail for their on-line assignment searches as well as game registrations. Recently, they have figured out how to make their own e-mail for mobile applications and other computer thingy they are hyped about. It got me troubled thinking I may no longer be able to monitor the sites they visit from many spam messages that could land on their inbox. It worries me knowing how gullible they are at their age. So when I heard about a Safe Email For Kids, KidsEmail and the many great features it has for parents like me I signed up at once!

my son Roel checking out his cool KidsEmail inbox

What do I love about KidsEmail?

Registering is Easy
~Just log on to http://www.kidsemail.org/ to start your free trial. You will then be prompted to enter your needed details and then receive a confirmation e-mail which will take you to the next step which is adding your kids' accounts. You would then discover that KidsEmail will give you PEACE OF MIND when it comes to your kid's online life at the same time not depriving your kids of the JOY OF GETTING IN TOUCH with the rest of the world.

Safety Settings
~We parents could easily customize the settings of their e-mail in such a way that we could monitor our kid's contact list as well as FILTER OUT BAD WORDS and even have a copy of outgoing messages mailed to us.

...see? Now I do not have to worry about my Roel being bullied on-line or visiting links to dangerous sites!

What more?

TIME RESTRICTIONS
~I could get the kiddos to follow their "study time" schedule by grounding them from using their account on certain times of the week. Discipline is one thing we are keen about at home.

GPS TRACKER
~Now that will save me "worrying time" when the kids do not respond to my messages when they are away from home and engrossed in activities with friends.

..and this is what entices Roel the most!

Cool Lay-Out
~My son was gleeful seeing his e-mail platform with a champion design!

for the little ladies here's one exciting theme!

...oh makes me wish I were a little girl still! Am sure your kiddos will be as joyful as my Roel when they log in on KidsEmail!

...check out KidsEmail to learn more and join the fun of a "worry free" mom and a "safe, happy daughter or son"!

Sincerely,

Healthy Lifestyle: Early Morning Walk Surprise with a Dragonfly

I was on my way home early in the morning when I spotted this dragonfly struggling to hold on to a leaf as the sun was about to make its grand entrance into the world.

I stopped and was amazed at the perseverance of the critter and was quite envious for it had a lazy moment to spend at the start of day to watch a new day unfold so I stopped and tried my best to capture its image and after several futile attempts to get a clear shot with my phone I gave up...

I walked on and left it to enjoy the moment and took the time to watch the sky change colors too!

Life can get too busy at times that we forget how good it is to simply breathe in and breathe out and thank the Lord above for...

all the blessings and the troubles we do not have!

We can see, we can hear, we can touch, walk and talk...

We are loved and beauty surrounds us....

what a beautiful life this is...

Home Sweet Home: My Not So Secret Other Life

I'll let you in on a secret! I have another addiction! Add it to taking selfie shots, writing and sleeping.

I love washing clothes! I love it more than cooking, cleaning and shopping. It feels like therapy to me. I am talking about doing the laundry without the aid of machines.  I love the smell of soap and the mere sight of bubbles makes me gleeful. The slippery feel and the "swish-swash" sound the water makes as I squeeze clothing reminds me of a happy childhood running under the sun and laughing out loud like there is no tomorrow.

This is how I look when I am in the mood for dolling up a bit.

and this is me when I am simply home and ready for my "laundry" hobby...all painted with sunscreen and wearing comfy shirt, hair tied and happy to be simply home!

By the time I have hanged the clothes I sit on a chair watching the world go by...and it is a beautiful life- having the time for what matters most and cherishing each passing moment with loved ones.

and yes, my favorite job in life is the one I am not paid for- raising the kiddos and being the
SIMPLE, unglamorous, mom-me!

Have a blessed season one and all!

P.S. While I do love washing, I hate, absolutely hate folding clothes hahaha but I LOVE LOVE LOVE ironing 'em! Well, nobody is perfect right? Sssshhh

Healthy Living: Early Morning Walk

One thing I love most about living at the neck of the woods is the chance to greet the day with wild flowers and farm animals. After walking the kids to the main road yesterday I had my dose of nature therapy which I am gladly sharing with you.

~all photos taken with my handy Samsung Note 2 and uploaded in raw form via Globe Telecom internet connection~

Thanks to technology we could preserve and share our "live in the moment" memoirs.

Missing the simple quiet life? Come virtually walk with me!

Save up to £50 Every Month on Your Mobile Phone Bill

In order to save, you always need to make some sacrifices, but you might not have to give up as much as you’d expect in order to save big on your mobile phone service. Customers all across the United Kingdom have been making the switch from their standard 24-month contract plans, and moving to a SIM Only plan. These plans only provide you with the SIM card and the amount of usage you choose when you sign up for the plan – that means no new phone, but massive savings in the long run.

The title isn’t a lie, you can actually save up to £50 every single month; depending on your current plan and the lowest amount of usage you’re willing to choose. There are plenty of great value monthly contracts for SIM Only customers, and some of them start as low as £8 per month (less than £100 for an entire year). Vendors such as Orange, O2, Vodafone, and even T-Mobile are currently offering a variety of these plans, and the low rates can be astounding at times.

Comparing the Cheapest SIM Only Plans

There’s no better way to see what types of plans are available than simply going to each individual vendor’s website and seeing what they offer under the SIM Only category. Let’s start with O2, for £8 per month under a 12-month contract, you’ll receive 100 anytime minutes, 100 O2 to O2 minutes, 100MB of mobile internet, and unlimited text messaging every month. Obviously this isn’t a lot of minutes, and O2 isn’t the biggest service provider so the O2 to O2 minutes aren’t a huge seller.

Regardless of the low usage, £8 per month is a great deal when it includes unlimited text messaging. Now, how about Orange’s cheapest SIM only plan, which also can be obtained for the low price of just £8 per month? Orange’s plan offers 500 anytime minutes, 500 text messages, and 100MB of mobile internet. Compared to O2, you get a lot more minutes, but you lose the unlimited text messaging and instead are forced to stay under a 500 message limit.

Next, there’s T-Mobile, who also offers an £8 per month plan. So far there hasn’t been a whole lot of data usage in these plans, and let’s be honest – 100MB isn’t going to last very long if you plan on using YouTube or downloading apps. Thankfully, T-Mobile’s plan allows 500MB of mobile internet, along with 500 text messages, and 250 minutes. Therefore if you’re in the market for an £8 a month plan, you’re going to need to decide whether you’d like more minutes, more texting, or more data.

Finally there’s Vodafone, who doesn’t have an £8 per month SIM only plan, but they have the next best thing – a £9 per month plan! This plan offers 300 anytime minutes, 500 text messages, 250MB of mobile internet, and on top of that you receive 750MB of UK Wi-Fi. Essentially, this is twice as much data as T-Mobile’s plan, but 75% of it is UK Wi-Fi instead of actual mobile internet; and you get 50 more minutes every month, but pay one more pound.

More Usage without Breaking the Bank

You’re free to be the judge of what plan would work best for you in the previous category, but let’s move on to some other plans that offer some more minutes and data, but cost a few more pounds. This time we’ll start with Vodafone: For £16 per month, you’ll receive 1200 minutes, unlimited texting, 750MB of mobile internet, and 750MB of UK Wi-Fi. This is a great middle of the line plan, but how does it compare to the others?

T-Mobile offers a similar plan for £16 per month, which provides 1000 minutes (200 less than Vodafone), unlimited text messaging, but also a whopping 3GB of mobile internet (twice as much as Vodafone). This is pretty interesting, since Vodafone clearly beats T-Mobile’s £8 plan, but T-Mobile is the definite winner for the £16 plan.

O2 kind of gets blown out of the water here, as their £16 a month plan offers a mere 600 anytime minutes, unlimited texting, and only 750MB of mobile internet – however, you do get 500 O2 to O2 minutes as well. Orange is definitely a step up from O2, but a slightly odd plan that is very minute heavy. This plan provides 2000 minutes, unlimited texting, but only 500MB of mobile data.

Beyond these plans, there are also some that are around £12 - £14 per month, as well as ones around £26 - £30 that offer unlimited talk, text, and web. It is always a good idea to know what all of your options are, and compare your previous mobile phone service usage to find which plan will be the most compatible.

HeaIthy Living: Battle with Mr. Flu

So here l am now officially down with the Flu and stubbornly fighting it. My mom sweetly gave me all the essential tips as always when we spoke over the phone. l love how she makes me feel so comfy like a child though she is miles away.

She heard me cough and offered her lemonade virtually. Yes she heard the sneezing and detected the stuffy nose through my voice. She reminded me to have my FIu vaccine because l keep forgetting.

Next she lovingly gave the child in me a rundown of anti Flu (cough and colds and fever with body malaise) tactics...

She knows me fully well when l am ill.  With an M.D. degree I detest taking meds for discomforts needing only supportive treatment. And yes Mr. Flu is included in the list being caused by a virus which the body could get rid off without complications provided one's immune system is strong.

So for lunch I enjoyed my mom in law's "Sinigang Na Bangus" (milkFish with sour soup) using fresh tamarind from the yard...radish and native Pechay leaves. It was yum! Gee you can say l am quite a spoiled girl in my late thirties being pampered by the best MOMS in the world...biological and in law so beware Mr. FLU, no one ever wins against maternal Love and Care.

l had juicy Fruits (oranges..lemon and apples) to give me my natural vitamin C dose.

l am drinking lots of fluid and l am OFF to doze in awhile to allow my body to heal Faster. I'm using my Samsung galaxy Note 2 to blog now so l am comfortably just lazing in bed which l am actually enjoying. l have the roughest times at work and nurses Call me Dr. Toxic. l always have a Smile to offer anyone though no matter how gruelling tasks are. (silly grin) l Sincerely love my job so Mr.Flu must leave me soon.

l need my dose of happy dreams so "Mornite" friends For NOW.

Praying for everyone's health and Safety specially my countrymen whose homes were ravished by supertyphoon Haiyan. Inspired by my wonderwoman friend Betchai of THE JOYS OF SIMPLE LIFE
I am sharing with you a link to a list of charitable institutions you can contact to send much needed help to victims. Thank you Betchai for leading me to purposeful blogging.

You may also want to check out our group blog THE SALITYPE SOCIETY where we help  kids' dreams come true. You can say that am hooked to sharing my thoughts online. It is therapy for me. I will let you in on a secret, it is my first LOVE, writing is my 1st love and healing is my other passion: combined they make me who I am-
Dr. KULASA.. .

Have a blessed Sunday one and all. ♡

Oh before I go I leave you a serious attempt at being funny while on a break  at work because I firmly believe,

How to: Being a Better Friend

The art of a real, honest, and true friendship is something that can easily be lost in today’s world of busyness, social media, and success. Friendship is a skill that has to be worked on, modified, and practiced in order for it to be successful and healthy. Sadly this is not the way that friendship is viewed in today’s society. According to Facebook and friend is someone who pushed a button on the top of your page and occasionally looks at pictures of you. Here are a few ways to improve your friendships and help you become a better friend.
