Sometime in October last year I got one of those much needed conference invites at the Summer Capital of our country. The thought of an overnight stay at a great hotel, sumptuous food and the chance to listen to experts in our field was hard to resists. My schedule somehow prevented me from attending yet when I learned a former classmate in Med school whom I haven't seen since graduation was joining I said yes without hesitation and pulled heaven and earth to make it to the trip.
It was a blessing to have friends in related fields sponsoring our sort of a reunion. Thank you so much. The venue most especially at night was kinda cold and it would have been great to have accessed patagonia jackets on sale to keep me warm. I didn't expect it to be that cold so I didn't bring a thicker jacket or sweater. I just love the pink jacket one of my friends, Mayee was wearing....
and the blue sweater of sweet Jahryne. |

We headed for the cafe after and the mild sweetness of hot chocolate paired with raisin and banana bread kept our tales of ghosts and other creepy stuff not that scary but fun! On second thought I think fear got over us because we ended up sleeping in one room instead of separate ones even though Chinky was so afraid she'd pass on her colds virus to me hahaha. I said the virus won't hurt me but a ghost just might! hahaha....
I don't remember exactly what time we hit the bed and went to dreamland. I just know that I had a grand time catching up with my friend and talking about our careers and everything in between and that the warmth of sunshine peeking through our room's window woke us up the next day or was it our alarms? :)
Waking up to see the sunrise from bluish mountain ranges and smelling pine trees made this heart quiver with excitement.
A new day, a new chance to keep loving the people we love and yes, a great day to save lives! |
Food was waiting for us at the resto and yep we again had a blast!
fried "Bangus" (milk fish) belly |
fruit selection |
the tastiest of breads |
After the heavy breakfast we were all set to go back to reality...our jobs which require us to be always
alert and most of all compassionate....
because saving lives is not just a career but a lifetime commitment....
a very happy gathering..
