On the Wings of Friendship

Many times in our lives, we experience pain. There are moments when the sky seems to be so dark and nothing could compare to the anguish that we are suffering. On such occasions we are left thinking and talking to ourselves almost to the point of madness-"What have I done wrong?" "What have I done to have deserved this?" ...We go on and on blaming ourselves until we go weary of analyzing and probing our hearts and souls still unable to swallow our pride, unable to forgive or erase our guilt or vanish the hurt. For a time solitude becomes our refuge that we build walls around us that allows no one to enter not even the closest to us. And then we realize like magic, waking up one morning that the problems in our lives are nothing compared to that of many out there…that the fact that we woke up is a sign that we have to go on and help in changing the world into a better place. What better thought to wake up to than the realization that there are people around us who are just a thought away, who would run as fast as they could to get to our side the moment we call out their name. They would do anything just to cheer us up from willingly listening to our nonsense to taking the blame, to looking ridiculous, to taking the risk to taking the leap for us if only to show us that we are loved and cared for and that nothing in this world is too heavy to be carried by that thing called "genuine FRIENDSHIP".....

Friendship makes each grey sky sparkle
each dark cloud turn into glitters
each dreary feeling to glee
and gives us wings to fly
across the most beautiful skies

hopping happily, happily hoping

The other day I spent time watching a grasshopper while waiting for the sun to rise. Yes I did, yes I sat there, and disturbed its happy resting on those yellow-orange petals.

Love, Love, Love

To be wanting to stay close to someone is indeed one of the most natural things in the world. Studies have shown that that emotion we call Love brings out the best in us. It gives us the power to move mountains; to conquer our fears; to keep looking and feeling young; to have a positive outlook in life; to figure out the answers to our innumerable questions in life. It can give us that elusive emotion called contentment...

and yes....
two yellow bugs on a leaf
it empowers us to multiply and keep the world ALIVE!

Bacnotan, My Hometown

Yesterday, I had tears in my eyes on my way to that place I dearly call home. I was with a heavy heart as I took photos with my phone through the glass window of the bus. Our province was one of those unfortunately ravished by tropical storm "Helen" which brought heavy rains that flooded streets, farmlands, homes and drowned relatives' and friends' livestock; destroyed crops and property and left many in sorrow having no place to sleep and food to eat. I prayed with my fellowmen for the rain to stop; analyzed why such a thing happened, drew out conclusions and like a diligent student came up with answers and plans to help prevent another akin catastrophe from happening; things  better done than just enumerated. Today, miraculously the sun came out and brought hope for everyone. With the government's aid, everyone's cooperation and blessings from Above I have faith we will rise above such tragedy.

Close to You

~Love, it definitely is the most wonderful unspoken word

but say it, before the person closes his or her eyes forever because when you lose that chance, it may never

come again~

A Day After

Today I got my Mother's day present from nature in the form of  a surprise visit from a green, grinning friend who was more than willing to pose for my digital camera while comfortably resting on the hand of a female cousin...

First drops of Rain

The first drops of rain have made a lot of winged friends happy with every leaf turning luscious green...
watching one with earthen hue was enough to make me smile...shopping can never give me that  kind of happiness....

The Touch

I took the following shots of a butterfly with my digi-cam while about to start washing clothes...a tiny brown winged friend rested on my forearm...I asked my son to quickly hand me my ever ready camera in a very soft voice so as not to scare it away...surprisingly it stayed with me until I practically got tired manipulating my gadget with one hand...it must have been the flowery scent of the soap that attracted it but sometimes I'd like to truly believe butterflies are souls coming back to earth to touch our lives...It reminded me to plant more trees and flowers around the house and to conserve water...Needless to say I was ecstatic that I did not have to travel far to take these macro shots...I only needed to wash our clothes manually outside...It pays not be lazy at times, hehehe...and to be hands on in taking care of one's kiddos...we get to enjoy the best of both worlds...ours and theirs...blessed weekend my friends...Let's help save dear mother nature...Advanced Happy Mother's Day one and all....

our dog Markie and our friendly yellow neighbor butterfly

I was busy working in the garden when this yellow winged friend which caught our dog's attention got me running for my camera and kneeling on the ground to capture one moment of extreme silence...that made me realize there really could be "Peace on Earth" if we simply respect each others' existence...for "Life is too beautiful to be wasted hating, keeping grudges and hurting".....

yell-0hhhhhhh

I have not updated this site for the longest time. Needless to say i have been quite busy. It has been days since i  had the itch to click ..i took the following shots months ago..i was reserving them to join one of those photo challenges but i think i will really have no time to really go into blogging frenzy not even part-time...so here i am scratching my itch to write at almost midnight at work while waiting for medications to work on my patients...sigh...life is never perfect, it is never all fun and laughter but as long as one knows how to smile and say "being simply alive is great" and has the heart to look at the beauty that nature has to offer life goes on merrily.......so here i go yelling...OH....LIFE IS GREAT!..."yell it ohhh"
