My Valentine Date

A photo posted by thelettersinnovember (@zenskulasa) on

A day before Heart's Day I went out to watch a movie with the kiddos. We were supposed to fetch the college boy and the high school boy fell asleep on the coach waiting for me to put on my new shoes.

3 Reasons To Watch "GOOSEBUMBPS" of Sony Pictures Entertainment

Theatrical Release Poster

Last Sunday was a "mandatory" movie date with my boys LOL. As teen-age peeps they are still hooked to watching the latest on widescreen. We live in the woods so they literally get all that nature has to offer every waking morning so on weekends, I feel guilty not allowing them to enjoy what modern life has to offer so off we went to the mall and agreed to all view Goosebumps. When I first had a glimpse of the official movie poster I quipped "ah, might just be another boring, trashy flick" but then my older son said it stars "Jack Black" and I was like "Oh, let's view it!" So here goes my recommendation....

3 Reasons You Must See Jurassic World

Sunday is usually "movie" day for the kids and I. Last week we viewed Insidious. Hmmm was I frightened? A bit I must admit. Today the kiddos dragged me to the movie house to sit back and enjoy JURASSIC WORLD and oh boy I HAD A helluva GREAT TIME!

So here goes my movie review again sort of. :)

Theatrical Release Poster

1. Non-stop thrill!

I'm not really the sci-fi kind of lass but perfectly crafted entertainment like this fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film series triggered the "happy" juices in my brain. Since everything seems oh too real- prepare to scream, squirm and mentally run FOR YOUR LIFE for the entire one hundred twenty four minutes LOL!

2. Family oriented scenes

It's the kind of film you definitely MUST WATCH with the whole family. I admit to have sniffed and stifled a sob listening to those endearing lines that connect brothers, sisters and parents together. And yep, Jurassic World will make you APPRECIATE THE PERSONS WHO MATTER MOST IN LIFE.

3. Instilling innate love for mother-nature

I've actually missed huge trees, forest, green grass and huge bodies of water on wide screen for quite sometime now. The film reminds us not to mess with NATURE and to take care of God's creation may they look scary or huge as DINOSAURS.

I won't give away the story and scenes for those who haven't had the time to see it! Nobody loves a spoiler eh? But am embedding the movie's official trailer here to get you all excited LOL! :)

With superb acting, perfect sound and visual effects, JURASSIC WORLD is one of 2015's BEST.

Date With The Hunks: Pizza Hut Galore and Cinderella Movie-Watching

I'm the only girl in the family so they are hunks LOL. It was a day for the teenagers so the choice was theirs. The hubby wanted to eat his so called real foods but we all said No-No because it's the kiddo's day!

So off to Pizza Hut we went.
We had a set-meal which composed of...

mushroom soup

chicken and fried rice

Hawaiian pizza

Spaghetti platter

I find their fried chicken a bit of salty and got the same opinion from the hunks. Their pizza is the best for me though because of a certain herb-like taste and the pasta that's not too thin and cooked just enough. I guess it's the cheese that makes it perfect!

And yep it was a perfect date with the hunks. We got a family secret during this date! No am not telling you LOL.

We then went to the mall to catch the movie CINDERELLA. I don't have time to write a review about it so am giving my verdict in this post. Cinderalla starring Lily. James is a MUST-WATCH.

Not just because am a sucker for fairy tales but because it was very beautifully portrayed. Everyone in the audience knows the story but still everyone was mesmerized!

HAVE COURAGE AND BE BRAVE!
~the important lesson that I learned~

As for the hunks, am sure they were enchanted by Cinderella!

UNTIL OUR NEXT FAMILY ADVENTURE!

3 Lessons I Learned From Watching THE TRIAL

I can't say I seldom watch local movies. I keep myself abreast with local flicks if only to satisfy my curiosity and yep entertain myself of course. Needless to say yours truly is a JLC fan. That's not the main reason I recommend this movie though. It's the virtues that came alive on screen
Here goes....

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Fail To Watch Mr. Peabody & Sherman- A Movie For Fellow Dog Lovers

My son Roel pleading me to stop taking his photo beside the poster so we could go inside the cinema to watch.......
MR. PEABODY already!

~IT'S A MOVIE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY including our pets ~

1. It takes us back to the valuable lessons of history!

~from the genuine smile of Mona Lisa to the days of Egyptian Pharaohs and back to the future which is today where we all could be heroes and save the world!

2. It makes us appreciate conquering our fears and believing that we can!

~flying planes and losing pain, yep and everything else in between if we only have faith in our capabilities!

3. It gives us a new perspective on family, one that is not necessarily within the norms of society but has love and trust as a main ingredient!

~I found myself telling the hubby over and over that in another life, if we could have more than one life, I TOO WOULD WANT A DOG FOR A DAD

ah oh, Hi dad! can you read this from heaven? no offense meant hahaha love you so much!
IF YOU COULD WATCH THE MOVIE FROM UP THERE IN HEAVEN AND WISHES DO COME TRUE I BET YOU WOULD HAVE ALSO WISHED FOR A DOG-DAD AND I WOULD HAVE HAD A DOG-GRAND DAD  AND WE WOULD ALL BE DOGS AND HAPPY NONETHELESS!

I heard from the news last night that it is one of the top grossing films this week, not surprising! I wouldn't want to spoil the fun for those who haven't viewed it and stop HERE! ARF! aRF!

Have a fabulous week to all the Peabodies and Shermans out there!

The Sherman in Me and my real-life Mr. Peabody
"Seriously, I sometimes think our dog has my dad's eyes when he stares at me. How about you? What is your dog story?"

Sincerely,

Healthy Relationships: Is Your Partner Having An Affair? Or Is He a CIA agent- Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Yep I went to watch the movie with the hubby to somehow get away for awhile from recent family and work related stress. We do not live a perfect life and sometimes we need a little break from it all.

When he said Jack Ryan is up for viewing I said, "Oh that's great!"- without realizing at first what he was talking about. My mind was preoccupied by so many tasks waiting for me and the sickness of a family member. The name Jack Ryan touched a chord in me from somewhere back in time. When we reached the cinema and I saw the film's poster it was only then that I realized he was talking about a character by one of his favorite authors- TOM CLANCY and the other Jack Ryan movies we previously watched.

And as the movie unfolded I once more became Jack Ryan's love interest- Cathy, a physician. Sounds close eh? Jack works for the CIA and concealed it from Cathy for several years. They've been engaged but Cathy remains clueless of his real career. She found a movie ticket inside his pocket one time and got suspicious. I'd be! -and that was only one sign. Hmmm so what could be the other signs?

Signs your partner could be having an affair:

    1. ~He doesn't tell you exactly where he'd be when leaving the house.
    2. ~He doesn't answer your phone call and his number gets out of reach most of the time.
    3. ~He fails to show up on your date and often cancels meet-ups last minute.
    4. ~He comes home drunk and heads for the bathroom at once.
    5. ~You find things inside his pocket that are utterly suspicious!
    6. ~His behavior towards you suddenly changes- becoming defensive, refusing to communicate.
    7. ~Changes in his appearance or manner of dressing and response to you in bed
    8. ~You got that "gut" feeling that something is fishy behind his recent routine and manners...and a whole lot more which we women can't figure out at once
As for Jack Ryan, his partner was so relieved and ecstatic to find out he was not having an affair with another woman but was just being the loyal and very valuable citizen that he is. I wish there would be so many like him in my country.

The car chase scenes and heart stopping, gripping moments in the movie made me dive into the hubby's chest for comfort from time to time and the love story in the film that is close to ours makes it an ideal film for fellow uniformed men wives like me.

Chris Pine playing the lead role looks absolutely gorgeous to me- the hubby is jealous of course LOL.

The hubby and I were surprised to see his sister-Jetz and a cousin-Tanya inside the movie house too. I'm no expert in relationships and I am one of those women who secretly wish to become a professional detective. One thing I am a master of- "trusting" and "praying" that all goes well in our home sweet home forever and a day~

May your homes be blessed with LOVE the whole year round too!

Seven Reasons Why 47 Ronin is a Must Watch Movie

"I will search for you in ten thousand worlds, in ten thousand lifetimes...until I find you."
                    -Kai to Mika (47 Ronin)

I just arrived home from another movie date with my boys. I personally think that 47 Ronin, distributed by Universal Pictures starring Keanu Reeves is a movie one shouldn't miss watching on the big screen.

Why?

1. The plot is superb. Set in Japan depicting the 18th century heroic story of the 47 Ronin (Samurai) who avenged the death of their leader. It shows the world how honour and love of country and fellowmen supercedes everything including one's personal happiness.

2. Acting at its best. Keanu Reeves is Keanu Reeves- not just a gorgeus face but someone who becomes what he portrays, even each strand of his hair seems to follow the character's destiny. And yes the rest of the cast more than gives justice to their portrayed roles. Watch how a teardrop falling across Mika's (played by Japanese actress Kou Shibasaki)  porcelain skin could stir in you a gazillion of deep emotions.

3. Action packed scenes! Be prepared for those gritting fight scenes that makes you grateful not having lived in an era where watching men fight to death defines entertainment. The gory and violent parts of the film and the powerful portrayal of dying could confuse the kid's minds though so parental guidance is warranted.

4. A display of Japan's colorful and magnificent culture in all its glory....Costumes and designs as well as architecture and art at its finest marvelously crafted..  from swords to dances and masks...

5. Visual effects that enhance the imagination of kids and kids at heart....

6. The marvelous example of love of family, country, fellowmen and dignity...and living a meaningful life and not dying in vain...

7. a moving story of TRUE LOVE that defies fate itself and conquers all evil....

I could go on and on but I shall not cut the suspense for you...

Find out for yourself why 47 Ronin is a certified blockbuster....

Have fun!-til our next movie date!
