Dealing With Bad Memory

My spouse has an undiagnosed case of amnesia. We are always bickering about tiny things that I mentioned to him because he tends to forget things very easily. This is not a diagnosed problem and he does not do it intentionally but he simply forgets things on a regular basis that causes things to be unaccomplished or half done. Over the years we have had to be very creative in making sure that he remembers important things. Whether you are the person that forgets things on a constant basis or you are the partner, friend, or spouse of a loved one that forgets things, here are some great tips, tools, and ideas that can help when it comes to remembering things.
1. Write it down
My husband has an entrepreneurial spirit and he can verbalize his thoughts but has a hard time remembering his great ideas later on in life because he never wrote them down. One of the greatest parts of technology is that you can write things down or type them into a computer. When you write things you have to remember down then you can always refer back to the written words when you forget your thought or idea.

2. Get a to do list app
One of the greatest parts about living in the year of 2013 is that this is the day and age in which you can download great apps onto your device. There are a wide variety of apps in existence that help you save information and lists of things you need to do and accomplish. These apps do the work of remembering for you and also have some great key functions to go with it. One particular app that we use on a constant basis is the calendar app on our mobile devices. This app allows us to set notifications and reminders up for events and things we have to remember as well. I’ve used this app to remember deadlines. I’ve used this app to remember birthdays. I’ve used this app to remind me when big events or projects for work were coming up. The point is that the calendar app has several functions that help you with remembering things that you need to remember the most.
3. Use creative ways to set up notifications for yourself
Sticky notes are a fun and creative way to set up notifications. Whether it’s a chore or note that you want to make these sticky notes help you remember what you need to remember immediately upon seeing them. Notifications are so helpful for me when I need to set the alarm for my home. This is one of the many reasons why I chose Smith Monitoring as my home security company. Smith security has a function that gives me a notification to my phone when I’ve left my home without turning on the alarm. I can even set the alarm from my mobile device without having to turn around.
There are numerous ways to help you remember to do the things you need to do and remember the things you need to remember. The hope is that you would take advantage of technology and creative things to help you remember things better.

  2. Oh so high tech! I'm also very forgetful. Back when i was working i always forget to log out in our biometrics. My manager was annoyed by my constant forgetfulness. It went so bad i had to do something. That's how my blog was born. And the intent was to list down things im grateful for everyday because i read somewhere that gratitude is the heart of the memory. It has helped a lot! haha im not that forgetful anymore. But there is one thing i really like about having short memory, it's the secret of happiness. haha because you tend to forget easily.

  7. Ah, it is best that your hubby do things in a routine manner. That way, parang auto na lahat ang tasks sa kanya. Good thing too is for him to write down things.
