What To Do If You Hate Wearing Glasses!

Our eyes are important, they allow us to experience the world in so many different ways. Sometimes, our eyes go wrong, leaving us with vision problems. While most of these issues are treatable, not everyone gets on well with glasses. For us girls especially, glasses can be incredibly difficult to adjust to and can knock our confidence. The question is, what do you do if you hate wearing glasses?

Consider if it’s the frames

Perhaps the reason you’re not a fan of your glasses is because you don’t like the frames? It might not be that you hate glasses just that you’re not keen on your glasses. Pop into your opticians and ask to try on a few different frame shapes and styles, to get an idea of what suits you. If you feel confident in certain frames, then the chances are you’re just wearing the wrong glasses. However, if you don’t feel comfortable in any of the designs, perhaps glasses aren’t right for you. Not everyone gets on with glasses, and it’s important to realize that.

Opt for contact lenses

If glasses aren’t right for you, the next best thing is contact lenses. Not everyone can wear lenses; it depends on your eye problem, but most vision problems can be corrected with lenses. If you don’t like wearing glasses, it’s worth talking to your optician. The great thing about contacts is that they’re easy to use and wear. Plus, they're comfortable and affordable. However, they don’t offer a long-term solution to the problem and can be tiresome to use day in, day out.

Consider undergoing laser treatment

For a more long-term solution to your vision problems, the best thing to do is consider laser eye treatment. While many people are put off laser eye surgery because it’s a surgical procedure, it’s very low risk. It’s performed under a local anesthetic and is done using lasers, so there’s a small chance of error. Plus, thanks to advancements in how the treatment is performed, it’s suitable for a wide range of vision problems. Learn to love your glasses

If all else fails and you’re not able to have contact lenses or undergo laser eye surgery, the best thing to do is learn to love your glasses. This might take time, but eventually, you’ll love your glasses. It’s just a case of changing your mindset. Treat yourself to a pair of new glasses, master makeup for glasses wearers and Google celebrities who wear glasses. Sometimes, all it takes to learn to love your glasses is a confidence boost.

Not everyone likes glasses, so sometimes contact lenses or laser eye surgery can be the best option. However, if glasses are your only option, there are plenty of ways you can learn to love them. It’s just a case of getting creative and working out how to make yourself look good while wearing glasses. When you look good, you feel good.

  1. i wish i had other options, but alas, not for my eyes. I hate glasses, but can not see without them (at least nothing that makes sense) contacts will not work cause of the strength of the "prism" i must wear and laser surgery can not correct the issues i have. I am still learning to get around my dislike, because the alternative is not an option!
