I'm not really much of a fashion hype. In fact it has only been several months, not even a year yet since I started dolling up as inspired by my twinzy from SG who suggested perhaps it would be cool if I dolled up more often. She gets to endure looking at my selfie shots I'd throw her via the WhatsApp phone application 24/7 and because of her innumerable thumbs up I got the courage to post my fashionista-wanna be shots on my social-networking site profiles. One of the things we both love purchasing are "bling-blings" including bangles which aren't costly but looks great when worn matched with our clothing.
This was taken yesterday while I was waiting for the birthday hubby on queue buying Chicken Nuggets at Mc Donald's and yep fries too, 'shake, shake fries' which I insisted he buy in two flavors- cheese and sour-cream; guilty as guilty can be here, the foodie in me ordered sundae hot fudge too :) burp! (huge grin, excuse me)...I promised it'll be the last time I indulged in not too healthy food. A promise it is! (another huge grin)
Above, I was wearing a matching green earring which the kids and the hubby chorused looked like one of those things used for fixing hoses and faucets arrgghhh! I did not mind, it went perfectly well with my favorite checkered green blouse. Whatcha think? Sometimes living with 'all boys' isn't fun when it comes to 'girlie' stuff eh?
...and then there's me wearing my black bangles paired with black pearl earrings and black blouse with one of those necklaces I got from a boutique, a steal for only $ ?__.
Being a woman has got its ups and downs. There are times when we get lonely FOR NO REASON AT ALL. That's why I think accessories and make up were created. So we could paint our faces 'happy' when we are feeling blue and make our hands glow and pretty when they are tired.
It is tough enough being the agent of 'feeling great' at home being tasked to inspire the hubby to earn a living; getting the kids to school all ready for recitation and exams and for those like me who also go to work and by work I mean really sweating it out mentally and physically at times we get tired too...and dead tired...
...but then there's lipstick on the dresser, some glittering stuff we put on our earlobes and necklaces to go with our dresses- WE RISE UP AND KEEP SMILING! and when our kiddos say we look great and the hubby gives a thumbs up and friend praise our lovely faces, we feel that yes indeed, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL and we are inspired to go on working for our kid's future and making this world, a better place.
So go ahead, dress up! and don't forget to wear those bangles :D
Let's join hands in making this world a better place! :)
My secret to feeling young?-no secret at all...the LOVE of FAMILY and FRIENDS...and my favorite word, the one my mom taught me as a kid- humility. . . .
