Wedding Guest Outfit Inspiration

If you’ve got a wedding coming up, then you’re probably fretting about what to wear. You want to look gorgeous of course, but you certainly don’t want to upstage the bride. Here’s some inspiration for you to give you a nudge in the right direction:

The Blouse and Skirt

You can’t go wrong with a simple blouse and skirt at a wedding. If you want to show off a bit of leg, go just above the knee. To make your outfit more interesting, you could always pick a patterned skirt or a metallic blouse. You won’t need too many accessories with an outfit like this - maybe just a pair of earrings and a bangle.

The Flowery Number

Floral patterns are perfect for weddings. So many people opt for them, but that’s because it’s a tried and tested pattern that works. You could go for a floral playsuit, jumpsuit, or just a regular dress - either way you’re sure to look stunning. Pair with a blazer to give your outfit a more sophisticated edge. A site like Tuchuzy, for example, is great for buying dresses online from Australia.

The Shift Dress

I’d say opinion is divided on the shift dress. While some people can look absolutely amazing in it, others may look a little frumpy. It’s up to you to decide which category you fit in. However, the shift dress is perfect for pregnant ladies - it’s what Victoria Beckham wore to the royal wedding when she was pregnant with Harper!

The Grecian Style Dress

Grecian style dresses are perfect for weddings. They often make the wearer look and feel like some kind of goddess, which is always a plus. Neutral colours are a safe bet, but don’t neglect to look at pastel numbers either. Pair with gladiator style heels, and a plaited hairstyle to really finish off the look.

The Peplum Dress

Peplum dresses can look so flattering, giving the wearer a teeny waist and nice, shapely hips. They can really compliment a pear shaped figure, hourglass figure, or straight up and down. They’re not too sexy though, so you shouldn’t worry about whether yours is wedding appropriate.

The Maxi Dress

A long, chiffon maxi dress is always a hit at weddings, whether you go for a bandeau style or a one shoulder version. Geri Halliwell and Eva Longoria have both been fan of this look in the past, and looked great as wedding guests.

The I Wear Whatever I Want Dress

Ok, there are no ‘official’ rules when it comes to wedding dressing. So long as you don’t turn up in your own version of a wedding dress, I’d say you’re pretty safe. If you want to go for something different that you think shows off your style, do it. If you wear something you feel comfortable in then you can’t go far wrong!

What do you think of these wedding guest outfit ideas? I love the Grecian outfit inspo - there’s nothing quite like dressing as a serene Grecian goddess. Remember, make sure you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing - it’ll shine through and you’ll look fab!
