Can Walk, Will Play Football!

Life's grandest moments happen unexpectedly, take for example a child's first step. Walking commences with being able to stand alone for several seconds and what a spectacular moment that is for every parent!

 ....one second, two seconds...
"Look everyone, I'm standing!"

three seconds....four...
"Watch and learn!"

...and five!!!!
"Look at that proud, happy, AHA moment!!"

I can still remember how I was so thrilled seeing my boys stand on their own and then gradually started to walk. My heart actually skipped a beat as they put one foot in front of the other making a perfect landing on the ground. The world seemed to stop spinning, I was so ecstatic and nothing else seemed to matter more than those little feet and the boyish grin that makes my heart flutter. I bet every mom out there felt the same way I did, perhaps more.

Not very long after such a milestone, time seemed to have flown so quickly. I got preoccupied with jump starting my career and I have missed many of their other 'AHA' moments being a working mom. Now that they are no longer babies the hubby and I somehow miss playing with little hands and feet and consoling their cries at night, changing diapers and soiled clothes. A nephew fills that longing in us. He is the cutie in the photos above. The boy surprisingly adores the hubby too! He chooses to be cuddled by him and fed by him when there are so many of us offering to hold him. When I showed the hubby the photos above he said "aaahhh I was cute like him when I was a baby!" and I hastily replied "you wish!" to which he answered "ask my mom!" I didn't ask the MIL, I know she'll say "yes, he was a cute little boy." Aaahhh moms and sons, unbeatable tandem!- you agree?

The hubby who loves sports and adores babies wants some durable, adorable sleepers, boots, bibs, Steelers baby clothes  and even pajamas for his nephew and our kids. It is a great thing that ordering such online is now hassle free and shipping is swift. He dreams of one day watching his boys play football in  Pittsburgh. Such a huge dream eh?

What makes me adore the hubby so much is his generosity and his determination in his every endeavor. He told Jhunvy today- "You can walk already? then let's go play football!"

May your homes be blessed with generosity and lots of love to share.

  1. The joys of parenthood comes with every milestone of our kids - makes us proud and all and it really is wonderful if we get to capture these moments. (I had theirs video-recorded.) And yes, there would only be one (maybe two or three) beautiful child/children - and every mom has/have it/them. :)

  10. I don't want to miss my little boys' growth milestones, so even if life is hard, I still chose to be a SAHM, but because we've already moved to a country where life is much harder if you don't work, so i had to give up my SAHM time (only part time though) to help put food in our table. Still I get time to spend with my little boys! Those moments are indeed priceless!
