A Sky's Embrace

written for Real Toads

She flipped her head

And dangled a twig with her hand

From which then bloomed a flower

Connected to her hair

Her hair was made of leaves and flowers

and she, was walking on air

The moon she could pull down with a string

and talk to it for hours

For everyone had a moon over their heads

To pound and knead and knit

To keep their memories fresh and neat

A tiny star would sprinkle the air each time someone smiled

It'd fly a distance when the smile turned into frown

the ground was carpeted with friendly wings

that'd lift one from leaf to leaf

Leaves that were haven where one sleeps and eats

when the sun it sleeps and forgets to shine

and sing to the beat of forgotten tales

A rainbow lit every corner of the sky

so bright it could illuminate the souls of passers-by

One day this girl saw a boy cross the arrow of stars beneath a bow

She saw his heart filled with her name,

her images even her shadow

He flew to her feet lifted by the friendliest of wings

He moved his lips and out came tiny stars

That circled her chest then entered her heart

Alas the stars allowed her heart to beat

and blood filled every hollow of the cupid's pick

their feet fell on the ground, the wings gave way for them to seek

their own paradise and a home to keep

where they no longer could command their moons

but have to wait for the sun to set for it to peek

Her leafy head turned into mane

Her lips caressed such manly flesh

and they both fell into that world

where nothing is forever

yet LOVE it is told....

to keep LIFE as beautiful as a sky's embrace....

  8. Ang lalim ng mensahe, halos muntik na akong malunod. Great imagery and nery fluid flow. Wala na akong masabi pa sa message, tso touching and heartfelt. Isa kang makata, kaibigan, sana makagawa rin ako ng ganitong tula. ang alam ko lang kasi puro kenkoy poem.
