Beyond the Sunset

yellow flower

Dear Dad,

Hi there! Hey, I came to visit the other day. I didn't see you. I suppose you weren't there. It was too grassy where we left you. But don't worry, someone will clean up the place soon. I hope you got what I left for you there, a candle on the ground next to the yellow flowers.

I visited next one of your favorite places in town. You remember? that area where you used to fish? where the sun meets the sky at the end of the day and where I used to sit around and watch you with your fish-net running towards the waves...

I went there but didn't see you though I have to admit, the wind, the clouds, the air, the sun, the flowers...they all told me you are happy now....wherever you may be......

Passing Happiness Around

Today I saw another child who once again made me feel so contented and happy. She seemed to be chanting while walking along the shore barefooted in comfortable loose clothes with hair freely swaying with the wind.

It was almost sunset and I was spending time at the surfing area with a good friend after visiting the wake of a high school batch mate's dad. As always stricken with grief at the news of someone traveling to the afterlife having experienced myself the pain of losing someone in this lifetime I was in a contemplative mood. I complained a lot about the sky not being royal blue this afternoon and my friend did not know whether to laugh at me or to scold me. I realized I was being unreasonable when my friend spotted this little girl who totally took my attention away from melancholy.

Glorious Saturday

It has been said time and again that LIFE is a journey...
each morning is a gift and each person in our lives is a blessing...
Huge fluffy clouds, green leaves, blue skies, sunset and rainbow
...those are simply what makes this heart glad...
Traveling on land never bores me because it is a chance to watch the world
...sharing with you shots through our car windshield on one glorious Saturday...

Blessed

Maragayap Bridge

Today I am alone in our room tapping on the keys. Silence is not my company however as I could vividly hear my children merrily chatting. From the open window I could feel the air gently entering like a lullaby.
And as I stare into the photo I took of one of the bridges in my hometown on the left, see clouds, mountains and trees  I feel happiness. I can breathe with ease; I can swallow with no pain; I can smile with no remorse; I can scratch my nose with not a bit of difficulty; I can skip if I wanted to all day; I could shout at the top of my lungs; I could call out a friend's name and I'm sure he or she would come running by my side; I could go on and on with blessings we sometimes fail to see because we are too busy worrying about inane things.
The road to happiness is a road that is always inviting us. We only have to say "yes" ...yes to being trustful that everything we really need has already been set by someone Almighty for us...the air, water, shelter in trees, grasses, sand and soil in which to lay our feet...and our brains which enable us to build shortcuts through huge bodies of water...

What more could we ask for...we are blessed....We are human and we have been made in His own image and likeness.....
In forgiveness we gain peace; in sharing we attain growth...
Blessed day treasured family and friends....I am blessed to have you in this life...Thank you for taking the time to visit
