Can You Really Have A Healthy Home?

We are trying to incorporate health into all aspects of our life currently. Our fashion sees us wearing Fitbits and other smartwatches to track how far we’re walking and how many calories we’re burning per day. Our diets are ever changing as we morph from paleo to carb-free to whatever the next celebrity is promoting. Fitness recommendations change with the season, and we are just as likely to be championing water aerobics one week as we are breakdancing the other, such is our fickleness when it comes to sticking with one for the long-run. But what does this mean for our home? Have we gone as far to have a ‘healthy home’, or is this just a myth yet to be achieved? Can we really make ourselves happier?

Ergonomics

Realistically speaking, yes - you can have a healthy home. At least, you can buy things that will help your body and relieve any stresses. If you are experiencing aches and pains when you wake up, for example, it could be that you need a new mattress. Something as simple as replacing it can relieve of anything uncomfortable that you have been feeling. If you have a search online for a place that does mattresses that can help relieve pain, such as ChooseMattress, you will find that there are quite a few places that can help you out on that front. It’s recommended that you change your mattress every eight years; it could be that the springs or firmness in your has gone, leaving you to wake up aching. Thinking about offices and how they have introduced ergonomic design into their furniture to relieve any tension ains that their staff might get over the course of the day, take this into consideration when planning a revamp of your own home. There are sofas, chairs, and even cushions that you can buy to help you be able to sit down comfortable and relax, but whilst not putting your body into any awkward positions unknowingly - that you’ll be more than paying for a bit later on.

Focus On The Senses

A lot of our health and what our body perceives to be as healthy come from the senses that we currently have. If our house smells fresh, we assume that it is clean and do all that we can to keep it smelling that way - and so off we go with the antibacterial cleaner, polishing and mopping and dusting until we have nothing left to do. In relative terms, this is healthy as we are ridding of bacteria that can make us sick. Getting on top of all of the things that need doing within the house, whether this is wiping down the sides or just spraying a mist to ensure that something is properly covered from any unwanted viruses is one of the top things that you can do.

Let In Light

The more natural light that you have, the less likely you are to be depressed. It’s the natural upper - relating to Seasonal Affective Disorder, a little light can do wonders for your mental health.
