Here's What I Think It Takes To Keep Your Relationship Happy

A happy relationship can make a happy you. But I also think it works the other way around too. If you are happy with yourself, you are more likely to be happy in your relationship. Most relationships are about give and take. There will always be a degree of self-sacrifice. But if this is making you unhappy with your life, it may be time to examine how deeply your relationship is affecting you.

Personal happiness comes from being satisfied with who you are. You should be happy with where you are in life and see a clear path to where you want to be. Some relationships can become an obstruction to that. Of course, the very best relationships elevate you to where you want to be. The partnership with your loved one fulfills you and makes you feel better about yourself.

Relationships can feel strained or stagnated for many reasons. One of the most common is a lack of time for each other. Careers and children often become the priority in our lives. It’s really easy to forget about our partners and their needs. And it can be just as easy for them to spend less time thinking about yours. That’s why date nights are so important. They give you a chance to reconnect, talk to each other, and be with each other.

Some of the best dates are those where you can get away from it all. If you’re looking for a great get away with your other half, why not go enter the Love Cave comp now for an all expenses retreat for two? While you might not like the idea of being out of contact with family and work. But it means you can have quality time with your beloved without interruption or distraction.

Communication is so important to a happy relationship. We’re not always in agreement with our partners on every decision they make. Talking about it calmly is the best way for you both to see the other’s point of view. Talking isn’t the only way a couple can communicate. Love notes, SMS messages, and even little drawings can be romantic ways to say ‘I love you’. One of the best ways to communicate is to look into each other’s eyes. Take each other’s hand, or just have a cuddle.

Happy relationships don’t stay the same. Like all things in life, they change and evolve. This should be a positive thing in your relationship. But that doesn’t mean how you speak to each other should change. The respect and courtesies you gave each other on your first date should still be relevant now. And most importantly, you should both be listening to each other as intensely as you did when you first met. It’s easy to take each other for granted a little as the years pass by. But it’s more satisfying to still be excited by each other.

All couples have their little spats. We get tired or stressed, and it happens. How you apologise and move on from it is what makes your relationship a happy one. Be in love.
