Fantastic Suggestions For Brightening Your Living Room

Do you worry that your living room is too dark? Would you like to discover some cool ways of brightening the area? This post will give you some great suggestions that have been proven to provide positive results. All you have to do is put my ideas into practice. After years of living in dark homes, I got sick of the situation last year. So, my partner and I decided to make some changes. Below, you will find details of all the improvements we made. Our home is now one of the brightest on our street. Some of our neighbors have even replicated these ideas since coming round to visit.

Install patio doors

Presuming your living room leads out to the back garden, it makes sense to install some patio doors. They are much bigger than standard windows, and so they will allow more natural light into your property. We did that a few months back now. I can honestly say it was one of the best suggestions my partner made. My living room is now much brighter, and I have the added bonus of being able to walk straight out into the garden during the summer. I even bought a big Magnolia tree and planted it right outside. That added some much-needed color. You should follow suit if you truly want a bright a vibrant living room.

Paint your walls white or cream

As you can see from the image I’ve attached to this post, painting your walls in white or cream will make your home brighter. With that in mind, you should head down to your local store as soon as possible. We managed to paint the entire ground floor of our property in one day. So, it’s not even like you have to commit a lot of time. Those of you who hate painting might want to call some friends. Some people hold painting parties to get the job done quicker. Just bear in mind that alcohol and accuracy are rarely said in the same sentence.

Fit some wall lights

Another great way of brightening your space is to fit some wall lights. You already have a large fitting in the middle of your ceiling. We found that adding a couple more to the walls made a huge difference. However, neither myself or my partner are good with electrics. So, we made the decision to call a professional tradesperson. You don’t have to do that. We just thought it would be a little safer. If you do plan to handle the job yourself, make sure you switch the power off before starting work. You don’t need me to tell you what can happen when messing around with live wires.

So, there you have it. Our home now looks much brighter and more colorful since making those changes. There are lots of other ideas you could try. I just wanted to tell you about the concepts we used. Feel free to let me know if you come up with anything different. I hope you managed to sort things out soon. Remember, there is always lots of good advice on my blog if you get stuck!
