Staying Healthy in Winter

As winter approaches each year, colds, viruses and other pesky germs seem to increase. However, that doesn't mean that you and your family are destined to be sick all winter. When you implement these easy ideas, you can increase your chances of enjoying a healthy, happy winter this year.

Wash Your Hands
This tip is very simple, but it's one of the most important things you can do to keep yourself healthy. Be sure to wash your hands before every meal. In order to get the maximum effect, you should move your hands under the water after applying your soap for at least 20 seconds. Encourage your children to wash their hands regularly during the day to keep from spreading germs.

Supplement Your Diet
You're probably enjoying plenty of treats once the holiday season arrives, but you can use supplements to make up for some of your dietary deficiencies. Using Calsura is an easy way to increase your calcium intake this season, and don't forget to add an age-appropriate multivitamin for each member of your family. This isn't a substitute for a healthy diet, but it's a great way to get some of the nutrients that you might be missing.

Stay Moving
It's tempting to stay on your couch underneath a warm blanket when it's chilly outside, but it's vital to keep moving when the temperature is dropping. If it's too cold to exercise outside, move your workout routine indoors. You can even do your walking at an indoor area, such as a mall, to keep yourself active and moving.
