Why Everyone Should Visit Glasgow Once

If you haven’t visited the exciting city of Glasgow yet, you’ve been missing out! This is a place that everyone should visit at least once. I’d say more than once; as often as you can, in fact! There are so many things to do here, that you couldn’t possibly fit them into one short trip. Here, I’ll tell you about some of the best things Glasgow has to offer:

The Science Centre

The science centre is a must see if you’re going to Glasgow. It’s the perfect activity for families , friends, and even couples. You go through a range of experiences inside; you shrink down so you’re tiny, grow to the size of a giant, before lying down and gazing at the stars. You shouldn’t miss it!

The Necropolis

The name might sound a little grave, and with good reason. It’s a cemetery! Found behind Glasgow cathedral, it’s definitely worth a visit. You’ll experience amazing views of the city, and see some famous monuments. Maybe you should go on a gloomy day and see if you think it’s spooky enough? There are plenty of Citybase Apartments nearby so you can run and hide if you need to.

The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

This place is unmissable; it’s a beautiful 19th century building that includes art from everywhere around the world. It has a whopping total of 22 themed galleries. Did I mention that it’s free?! Get yourself there!

The Willow Tea Rooms

The Willow Tea Rooms are a fantastic place to relax, with their elegant art deco theme. Have a delightful afternoon tea here, consisting of yummy sandwiches and of course, cakes. If you’ve always fancied afternoon tea, then you can’t get any better than this.

St Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art

This museum is possibly the most unique of its kind. It explores and explains the importance of religions and gives information on Buddha, Ganesha, Shiva, and many more. Life, death, and the afterlife are thoroughly explored on the visit.

Sharmanka

Sharmanka is the most unusual yet perfect activity for families. It shows animated sculptures, amazing music, and lighting all used together to make a great show. It’s unique and strange, but wonderful. Thought provoking to say the least!

The Food

The food in Glasgow is nothing to be sniffed at either! Here’s a few of the best restaurants:

  • The Grill on the Corner - this place serves the best steak you ever tasted.
  • The Sisters Kelvingrove - Just the best Scottish restaurant you’ll possibly find.
  • Panda Chinese Cuisine - It’s a buffet, and although these can disappoint, this one doesn't!
  • Two Fat Ladies - love fish? This is the best fish place in all of Glasgow!
  • The Dhabba - your go to place for the finest Indian flavours.

As you can see, Glasgow has a lot to offer. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or eat to your heart’s content, you can do it all here! Even if you go just once, make sure you do some of the things in this post. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
