A Love Affair....with F (",) (",) D

me, enjoying a choco flavored ice stick
I am a foodie! There I've said it. When I am stressed, when I am sad, when my world seems too unmanageable, I rely on one thing that never fails to calm my mind- FOOD. My love affair with the bad sources of energy has somehow sidetracked me from my healthy lifestyle goal this year that I am now in the need  for a meal replacement  that will help me shed off the unwanted fats from my system. I know for a fact thought that there is no shortcut to a healthy body. I badly need to get back to my weight loss regimen ASAP.

my bro and I wearing two of my favorite colors, special thanks to Betchai for my pink top
I need to get back to jogging and sweating it out at least twice a week.       I am inspired by my brother who has achieved an ideal body weight since we both started with our quest sometime in December last year. He even bought some gadgets to help him build his muscles and is constantly searching for the best work-out regimens online to help him stay fit. He keeps telling me that NOW is the best time to restart with my healthy lifestyle regimen- not tomorrow because my "tomorrows" never end. Gosh, I may look somehow gorgeous in my photos these days but believe me when I say I have too many unsightly fats around my belly that are driving me nuts. Thanks to technology I can easily hide those secrets. Yet I want to be HEALTHY not just to look great but mainly to live long enough to take care of my children and the many people I meet at work and at play. After all, I am a health worker sssshhh and ought to be the best example.

So to my eating buddies- let's start snacking on fruits instead of junk foods and soda. The vitamins and fiber we get from nature's best will give us long, healthy lives to spend with the ones we love. Here's to saying goodbye to my love affair with fatty foods....and practicing what I preach :)

FRUITS IT IS!

 ..goodbye junkfoods!
join me in my quest!

  1. It is never easy to say goodbye to junk, sweet, unhealthy food :/ it's like a lost love, you would always - even though silently - be loving and longing for hahaha. Don't heed me - many would say you can't do it but don't believe them...you can! ;)

  6. Sis, on being a foodie, you are not alone! Lol. Me, too! 3 full meals per day is too easy to follow so gaining more and more pounds is effortless as well. I am still fighting this eating habits of mine as I continue with my diet program.

Visiting here on behalf of my daughter Triz!

  7. You're not alone sis, I indulge too because I felt they're the only thing in this world I have the sole power to devour, sadly, the ending is not always good and I'm no good at sweating and working on trimming those stored food now finding it's comfy way in my so called 'bil-bil' hahaha

but I guess I have to heed what you've said, I can do this!

  8. I join you Zen, but I always snack on fruits, I am a foodie too, but I love fruits for snacks! Haha, and 100% fruits, nothing added, nothing removed, all skin intact, for my juice/smoothie, but I drink them not because to lose weight, but to me, they taste so good! But I am with you too, when nothing seems to be going right, I crave for unhealthy greasy foods and sugary foods, ahhh, I know, I must stop enjoying chocolate cakes and cheesecakes! Once a while though, is fine, right?

  10. YAY! I hear you, Dokie! I am a certified foodie too! It's so hard to resist the tempation of devouring the glorious foodies.

Like you, I haven't been exercising of late but I find joy snacking the fruits I can't do without for a day: 2 apples , orange, and banana. My way of detoxifying are the sliced unpeeled orange or cucumber soaked in water. Burp! Hahaha!

I miss jogging and playing basketball. I'm guilty of not eating nutritious food.

  12. Just like you Zen, I'm a foodie too. I love chocolates so much. Hubby is watching me closing. Yes, I always hear "ahem". Meaning "hey that's your second piece of chocolate bar." So, I found a solution, not to keep the unhealthy bits in our cupboard. I seldom buy them too.
