Dreams can be thought provoking, puzzling, or downright bizarre. Chances are, you've had more than your fair share of dreams and have wondered what they signify. Dream meanings can be somewhat enigmatic depending on what happened while your mind was unconscious,
but psychologists and psychotherapists tend to agree on the meaning of a few common dreams. Below are just five commonly occurring dreams and their "big picture" meaning.
Dreaming That You're Being Chased
Dreaming that you're being chased is one of the most common dreams that people share. If you've had this dream, psychologists explain that it likely means that you are trying to avoid something painful or scary in your waking life. If you've dreamed that you're being chased, you might be running away from an emotion, an issue or a person that scares you. However, the context of the dream is also important, as this will help you know better what issues you need to confront in your waking life.
Being Naked In Public
If you've ever had a dream where you're naked in public, you are certainly not alone. This is another very common dream, which signifies that you're feeling exposed or vulnerable with respect to something in your life. You might feel as though you're in a position of disadvantage. Psychologists also believe that having this type of dream is common if you feel as though you've revealed yourself emotionally.
Frantically Trying To Find the Bathroom
Whether you wake feeling like you need to use the bathroom or not, having this dream is similar to dreaming that you're naked in public. This dream also signifies a fear of exposure or feelings of vulnerability. You likely seek privacy, and feel it hard to express your needs and desires adequately.
Losing All Your Teeth
Teeth usually represent survival, as well as how attractive we feel. When we dream that we lose our teeth, it signifies that we are aware of the natural instinct to protect ourselves, as well as to preserve our appearance. Losing teeth results in a loss of confidence; this dream means that something in your waking life is negatively affecting your confidence and how attractive you feel.
Dreaming About Being Pregnant Or Giving Birth
It isn't just women who have these dreams - men can dream about being pregnant or giving birth! While sometimes this dream could mean that you have the desire to reproduce, more often than not, it signifies a desire to create something. Perhaps you have a suppressed need to create a piece of art, write a story or work on a new project. If you've ever woken up wondering about different dream meanings, you are definitely not alone. Everybody dreams, and surprisingly, these five dreams are some of the most common dreams people share. Dreaming that you're being chased, that you're naked in public, can't find the bathroom, are losing teeth or that you're pregnant are all extremely common - and they all have a deeper meaning. If you can remember the context of these dreams, you can fix any problems or anxieties you're having in your waking life.
coincidentally, i just dreamed about you know who. hahaha! labyew! happy PJying ;)
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I had none of the above, it's because since that time I knew lucid dreaming I try to control the transition of my conscious to subconscious mind to dream only what I want to dream .. and It worked ... it's very helpful especially on the novel stories I'm doing .... but I often dream of water, when I do it's money coming :)
ReplyDeleteive dreamed of losing my teeth before haha that is very nice to know about the meaning of it. but mostly i have this very scary nightmare which I have eversince I was a kid
ReplyDeletei know i dream sometimes but i could always not remember what they are about :)
ReplyDeleteI rarely dream. If I do, it is disturbing or scary. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny knowing that men could also dream about giving birth! I never really believed in dream interpretations before but after reading this post, I think dreams really do have a connection with our emotional state.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how all kinds of dreams have interpretations. As for me, dreams are just products or an unconscious mind. Sometimes, I can manipulate my own dreams, too. If I dream of a good plot, I could have let myself continue to sleep just so the story wouldn't stop. But if I dream of something scary or bad, I don't know why but I can always let myself wake up and realize that I am just dreaming! Lol.
ReplyDeleteI heard before that if we dream at night it's not only one scenario, it's more than one. And when that happens, in the morning, we fell tired and thirsty.
ReplyDeleteMy dreams always involve zombie's or horde of aswangs! Scary and I used to be slapped by my mother to wake me up when I was in High School...
ReplyDeleteI've made 2 or 3 articles that tackle about this issue. But you know what, I don't buy these dream meanings. I dream less kasi but have occasional nightmares. Kaya mo yun sis.
ReplyDeleteI've dreamed about all of those mentioned one time or the other, but lately I don't remember my dreams anymore. Hehe, is it age? Lol.
ReplyDeleteI love your topic. Sometimes I cannot get an accurate responses whether online or in books about interpreting dreams. I don't want to consult a psychiatrist nor psychologist just because out of curiosity about my dreams.I'm a frugal mommy of soon to be two and it isn't practical. hehehe. Thanks for the information you shared, I surely bookmarked your post about this and will share to friends with the same interests about dreams interpretation.
ReplyDeleteOn losing teeth, reminds me of the "bundok" pamahiin sa amin, old folks believe that when you loose a teeth in your dream, someone will die. This always scares me when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing this..
ReplyDeleteWala akong dreams lately eh. Or maybe di ko lang maalala. I also keep a book of dreams with me because I always want to interpret all my dreams.
