Sillag- Poro Point Festival of Lights 2012

The following shots were taken during the first ever SILLAG festival of lights held at Thunderbird Resorts Boardwalk, Poro Point, San Fernando City, La Union on April 28, 2012. Sillag is an Ilocano word which means "moonbeam" or "lunar illumination".The event was apparently meant to promote tourism in the North, a part of Bases Conversion and Development Authority's efforts to change the landscape of North and Central Luzon.

Part of the festivity was a lantern and fluvial parade....photos of which follow...pardon the quality of the shots because my digicam could simply not give justice to the beauty of the magical evening that fascinated this simple soul.

The warm evening was worth spending beside so many photo enthusiasts from all walks of life. I wasn't able to stay long to view the pyromusical show because I had work the next day but I got to witness the airshow of ultralight aircraft and paragliders as well as the childrens' show and silent drill by the Philippine Marines....a happy sight which I hope I'd have the time to share with you too soon...

As the colorful lanterns made their way up, I made one wish..I managed to make just one wish having been awestruck by the happiness of people around me looking at the lovely floating colors...I prayed that  everyone in all the world learn to LOVE THEIR NEIGHBOR as their self....

Blessed day...I am once again joining SHADOW SHOTS SUNDAY2..come chase shadows with us...
....................from my humble world to yours.....
