Inspired Design Ideas For Small Bathrooms

The bathroom might be the smallest room in the house, but it’s one of the most well used. A
nd for this reason, it’s so important to get it right. Not only from a practical sense but because a lying in the bath in nice bathroom makes it so much easier to relax too. When we all lead such busy and hectic lives, that little bit of ‘me time’ when you’re soaking in the tub is so important. Here are some of the ways you can make the most of your small bathroom.

Find The Right Storage
In the bathroom, you have a lot of things you need to store and organize- from medicines to bath towels to beauty products to cleaning products. However you don’t have that much floor space to work with, so the right furniture and storage is crucial. If you opt for tall, slim pieces, these will give maximum storage for the least amount of space. You could screw hooks on the back of the door to hang up towels or keep your bathroom warm with a towel radiator. This will also double up as somewhere to hang them. You could also put up a shelf, and store products in baskets. Keeping the space free of clutter will make it look far nicer and make it easier to clean too.

Go With a Shower/ Bath Combination
Having both a bath and a shower in the bathroom is handy. Baths are useful for soaking and relaxing in, but showers allow you to quickly get clean and fresh if you don’t have much time. However, if you don’t have room for a separate shower cubicle it’s no issue. Install a shower over the bath instead, you get the best of both worlds without losing any space. Switch out your old shower curtain, these look frumpy and are traps for mold and bacteria. Go with an acrylic panel instead which will make the room look bigger and much sleeker.

Make The Most of The Light
Light colors of course make rooms look more spacious, and in a small room like a bathroom, this isn’t something to overlook. Using a light wall color will open up the space and reflect light far better. If you have dark paint or even tiles, consider ripping these out and replacing them. It will make a dramatic difference and appear like you have far more room. Another way you can make the most of the light is by adding a large mirror. Don’t be afraid to make a statement with it, not only is it practical for fixing your appearance in the morning and brushing your teeth, but the room will appear far brighter too. For maximum impact position it opposite the window, although anywhere that it looks right will still work.

Choose Decorative Pieces Carefully

As with any room in your home, you still want it to have personality. But you don’t want to clutter it up with unnecessary items when the room is so small. Instead pick one or two key items. It could be a plant, a wall hanging or something like an apothecary jar. This can double up as storage as well as looking nice.
