5 Wonderful Gift Ideas for the Archetypical Sports Fan

The relationship between a person and their beloved sports team is a very unique one. If you live with a sports fan, you probably know that all too well already. Games take precedence to anything else. Fans go through a range of emotions they never otherwise feel. I’ve written posts about gift ideas before. So, how can you convey that same passion into the perfect gift? If you've got a birthday coming up and aren't sure what to buy the quintessential sports fan, here are some ideas to see them through the good times and bad.

The Official Jersey

Of course, no fan is complete without being adorned in their team's jersey. But those things can get quite expensive, you know? Particularly with the release of a new one every season! So, if they aren't already up to date, you could grab the latest. Or, if you have kids, why not splash out and get an official onesie? Your child will be his pride and joy wrapped in a cute little jersey. If your guy already has the latest kit, you could opt for autographed sports memorabilia instead.

The Season Ticket

There is no thrill quite like going to games, but ticket prices are rising year after year. That means that attending the games isn't as easy as it used to be, and that probably bums him out. Especially given the current state of the economy, it can be hard to justify buying tickets at these prices. So, take the initiative yourself and treat him while you can. Trust me, he'll definitely thank you for it!

The Stadium Tour

Sports stadiums are usually steeped in tradition, unless it's a fairly recent build. You can practically feel it dripping from the walls in the hallowed corridors. History tends to be extremely important to sports fans, so a stadium tour could be just the ticket for your man. With any luck, they'll learn a bunch of interesting new facts they never knew before. But, above all, they'll get a once-in-a-lifetime experience and create lasting memories for the rest of their lives.

The Token Ball

Most sports tend to use a ball of some variety. Be it golf, football, hockey, or tennis, they all have some twist on the typical ball. Some of the most sought after memorabilia are the official balls from games. You know, the ones that the players actually used and touched! This might tend to be on the expensive side, but it's certainly something that will be displayed with pride for years to come.

The Video Game

You'd be hard-pressed to find a sport that didn't have a video game on annual release. All the most popular sports in the world have become something of a cash-grab. But that isn't to say that the accompanying video games aren't endless fun for fans. Sit back and watch as he gets lost in his games for hours, giving you some much sought after peace and quiet! Or for the vintage fan, why not try a board game or trivia?
