First drops of Rain

The first drops of rain have made a lot of winged friends happy with every leaf turning luscious green...
watching one with earthen hue was enough to make me smile...shopping can never give me that  kind of happiness....

San Juan Surfing Area at Twilight and Purpose-Driven Photo-taking

thelettersinnovember.com     One of my favorite places in our locality is the San Juan, Surfing Area. This is where I take most of my sunset shots and is the location of my Passing Happiness Around Post. Almost a week ago I met up with cool "Japol"ogy the brother of a dear blogging friend Ruthi of My Refuge Online and A Carpenter's Wife's Tool Box whom I met through Betchai of The Joys of Simple Life and Breathe in Breathe Out and chatted about the happiness of taking photos and everything else in between. Perhaps many of you are wondering where I get the time to blog. It is something that I love akin to some people's love for music, for sports, for gardening, for cooking, craft creation and the like.

"INCENDIARY"

She
tilts her head
to welcome the drops of water
they run down her neck, to her breasts, arms and legs

with closed eyes she thinks of all the times
in her life she chose to be with you
  she has changed
a lot has changed

Raising Little Men

Yesterday I finally made a decision. I chose to keep only one job because such a decision will allow me to spend more time with my kids. I think I could never trade waking up to see them smiling at me as they leave the house for school with material wealth. Their soft kisses and "I love you moms" as they would tease each other down the path to our wooden gate with promises to come home at once is a bliss that I treasure most. As I type now, the younger one is playing with penguins on their computer, a privilege he earned when he did good in a school presentation the hubby and I attended amid a chaotic work schedule. Parenthood, its tests and joys is beyond compare.

A Grateful Heart

In Life, we never get everything we want...
At times we fail and fall...
and there will be people who may not agree with us
...and in the process we could hurt each other...
Time will pass no matter what we do...
and the longer we keep the pain,
the longer we keep ourselves from growing

The First Kiss

She was passing along the corridor. The moon was peeping through the billowing curtains partially obscuring the merry making outside. It was the first day of the year. Screams of revelry could be heard along with the lights making their way up into the sky as if challenging the moon. A cat scurried towards an open door as she made her way to the garden. The leaves were swaying in unison as if luring her to walk on. A song was playing on her mind, notes from somewhere in time she could not give words to. She smiled as a flower dropped from a twig. It was difficult not be happy at that moment. The world was singing for joy....and she saw him for the first time. He had eyes that reminded her of the deep blue sea; and hair that snapped memories of her childhood from her own eyes. They were black yet brown when illuminated briefly making her almost see the bark of trees she used to climb as a little girl. What more was there that she could not resists? He had lips that smiled in a way that chanted lullabies.

The Touch

I took the following shots of a butterfly with my digi-cam while about to start washing clothes...a tiny brown winged friend rested on my forearm...I asked my son to quickly hand me my ever ready camera in a very soft voice so as not to scare it away...surprisingly it stayed with me until I practically got tired manipulating my gadget with one hand...it must have been the flowery scent of the soap that attracted it but sometimes I'd like to truly believe butterflies are souls coming back to earth to touch our lives...It reminded me to plant more trees and flowers around the house and to conserve water...Needless to say I was ecstatic that I did not have to travel far to take these macro shots...I only needed to wash our clothes manually outside...It pays not be lazy at times, hehehe...and to be hands on in taking care of one's kiddos...we get to enjoy the best of both worlds...ours and theirs...blessed weekend my friends...Let's help save dear mother nature...Advanced Happy Mother's Day one and all....

A New Day

Watching the sky change colors at dawn always renders me speechless...

the parade of colors that always greet me early in the day inspires me to do good,
to be meek, to be cheerful, understanding, loving, simple and contented with the thought
that someone always present and watching us wants us to be happy...
and loving one another..

it is easy to be blinded by greed and pride...to be wanting to be famous and beautiful amongst the rest and own fancy things that fade and rusts...

so I pray each day for everyone in all the world to walk a path of righteousness and humility...

while I work on my own imperfections...

thank you for the gift of each new day oh God,
thank you for family and friends who draw me near to you...
